I am trying to build a better self, to move from survival mode to something more fulfilling. And resist turning this into a kitty blog.

January morning

am balcony

I took this picture from my balcony this morning, after my morning walk with Matt. Yep, that's right, we've been waking up and walking while it's still dark. Are you impressed? I hope so! It's nice starting the day together, though in a week or so we'll start separate running programs, so we'll have to go at our own space. Still, nice this week.

What is motivating this bizarre behavior? Just the usual new year stuff I guess. Or the usual home-after-weeks-of-travel stuff. Oh, and our typical too-much-junk-food-and-booze-for-the-last-month stuff. It feels good to clamber back up onto this wagon, but I'm also quite sleepy.

I am a bit disappointed in myself for not blogging the December festivities. In the last month I have been sick around 15 days in total (including the last day of 2011 and the first week of 2012). I have spent 4 days traveling. I've spent time in 2 time zones. Each week I took pictures, planning to share with the Internet world, and each weekend I couldn't bring myself to touch a computer. Oh well. Y'all won't mind a few "Christmas in July" posts eventually, will you? I hope not.

Happy New Year a bit late. This is going to be a good one, I just know it.

Christmas in July? won't mind a bit! i'll bring the christmas carols! =) Hey, I didn't check my email for at least a week in December. The holidays are not a time to compute. they are a time to be old fashioned and make lovely treats and food with family.

Glad you're feeling better and back to blogging. I'd love to get up and walk in the dark with my husband...if only it weren't so darned cold!
