I am trying to build a better self, to move from survival mode to something more fulfilling. And resist turning this into a kitty blog.

more like this, please

After a way long hiatus I'm once again back on the self-improvement train. I've decided that part of that plan involves immersing myself in the work of the artists (musical, visual, literary) that most inspire me.

Last week I listened to Amanda Palmer pretty much on a loop. My tweekly tsaid I listened 31 times, but that's just on the desktop during work. There was much more on my iPod, and I must have watched the awesome Oasis video about a dozen times, because it's amazing. While I've been a fan of the album Who Killed Amanda Palmer since its release (at least approximately), I somehow missed this magical video for one of my favorite songs on the album. And this week I rekindled that love with overexposure.

I love her ability to capture that teenage reckless "lalala-my-life-is-a-mess-but-I-don't-even-care-I-swear-I-don't-I'll-cling-to-music-and-fuck-the-haters":
