A song worth breaking up for

True confession: one of my favorite parts of relationships when I was an unmarried gal was the breaking up. The emotion, the relief, the new freedom... breaking up was like a brand new lease on life. A little gift that seemed useless at best upon first inspection, but grew in possibility as it unfurled. And yes, I have be accused of being strange, insensitive, "like a dude" and otherwise abnormal.

Anyway, one of the best parts of breaking up is all the great breakup music that's out there. While I am thrilled to be out of the dating game permanently, I still get a little nostalgic for totally relating to a great breakup song.

In honor of this gray day (yes, San Diego gets gloomy days too), I'd like to share one of the best break up/stay out of my life jerk songs of the last year or so: Christina Peri's Jar of Hearts.

I hope your day has been as lazy and cozy as mine has been. And that all of your breakups are but bittersweet memories now.
